The first instance I was not present but I was told that Srila Prabhupada had requested Srila Govinda Maharaja to create a proper pranam mantra for him that delineated His mission to His Divine Master Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakura Prabhupada.
After Srila Prabhupada’s departure from this world, Srila Govinda Maharaja created this pranam Mantra that was edited by Srila Bhakti Rakshak Sridhara Maharaja who is Srila Govinda Maharaja’s Guru and Srila Prabhupada’s intimate friend.
I always felt that this pranam mantra to Srila Prabhupada captured every nuance of His Divine essence and glorious pastimes. So as a service to His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, I offer this glorious pranam mantra to him on His Divine Appearance day so that all of his disciples can share the joy of our Srila Prabhupada’s Divine Glories.

I offer my humble obeisances unto His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, who is Krishna's beloved associate and who came down to this plane from Goloka. Taking the order of his guru on his head, he is the saktyavesa (Empowered) avatar of Nityananda Prabhu personified. He distributed the Hare Krishna mantra all over the Eastern and Western world, delivering and uplifting all fallen souls. He is the best of millions of Jagat-gurus because he is the personification of divine mercy. He has distributed the sweet nectar of Srimad-Bhagavatam and the transcendental knowledge of Bhagavad Gita all over the world.
He is constantly engaged in exclusive devotional service to Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Prabhupada, Srila Rupa Goswami, and Sri Gauranga Mahaprabhu. I offer my humble obeisances unto Srila Prabhupada, who is like a bumble-bee always tasting the nectar of the lotus feet of Sri Sri Radha and Govinda.
This stotram was composed by Sripad Ananta Rama Sastri who was a disciple of Srila Prabhupāda and a Vaishnava Sanskrit scholar. Sripad Ananta Rama Sastri used to travel with Srila Prabhupāda in India serving in the Sanskrit department by assisting Srila Prabhupāda in translation work. Sripad Ananta Rama Sastri was specifically requested by Srila Prabhupada to assist Him in the translation of the Srimad Bhagavatam commentaries written by the various Acharyas in our Gaudiya Vaishnava lineage.
Sripad Ananta Rama Dasa Sastri compiled five slokas, which describe many of the transcendental ornaments that decorate Srila Prabhupada’s divine character and describe His divine mission. This stotram was composed and sung for the first time directly in the presence of Srila Prabhupada at Sri Candrodaya Mandira, Mayapur Dhama during the Gaura Purnima festival just before the daily morning Guru puja in 1976. Srila Prabhupāda greatly appreciated the deep siddhantic meaning contained in these five slokas describing His Transcendental mission and pastimes.
In late 1976 Srila Prabhupada requested one of the Gurukula teachers in Vrindavana to arrange for the children to recite this stotram daily. Srila Prabhupada explained that the daily recitation of this stotram by the children and devotees would develop their strong faith [nistha] towards Him. During that time the children and devotees used to sing this stotram every morning before Guru Puja by his vyasasana. I was remembering this stotram the other day and some of you who were in Vrindavan may remember it also. So I decided to revive this stotram for our daily prayers and meditation and to help us, as Srila Prabhupada said, develop our strong faith, nistha, towards Him.
This stotram is recited in the same meter as the Brahma Samhita prayers
A sample of its recitation is on YouTube at the following web address
